Recently we’ve been taking these great little day trips. Nothing big or fancy but somewhere we can drive in a day and usually we’re only gone for 5 to 8 hours. One of our adventures was to Laurel Falls for a day hike. It’s a 2.6 mile hike (there and back) that ends at an 80 foot high waterfall. It is absolutely gorgeous.
It was a pretty hot day and we were sweating by the time we reached the falls but you could tell the temperature had definitely dropped. My dad reminded me we used to do this hike as a family when I was little. My parents would dress us in our swimsuits so that we could go swimming at the base of the waterfall.
