This was originally I post that I wrote for House of Rose a few years ago. It was on my mind recently so I thought I would share it here.
Thank you. In a time where everyone is especially busy it can be far to easy to forget those two little words. Maybe for that very reason, it now feels more important than ever to remember to tell people how much you appreciate their actions.
As someone who was recently married I have much experience with writing thank you notes. I’m pretty sure my name is still cramping. I follow a pretty simple format when it comes to thank you notes. It looks a little something like this:
Easy, right? If you are still unsure of what to write I would suggest checking with Emily Post. Here are a thank you notes from famous people that I really liked. I snagged these from this post on Mental Floss.
Oh, Conan! What a funny guy! Can’t you just imagine how the girl felt reading this response?
As a life long fan of Roald Dahl books, I can safely say this one is my favorite. If you do not understand the reference to the “dream in the bottle” then I urge you to go read The BFG. This note will hold more meaning for you after.
Of course saying thank you does not have to come in the form of a thank you note. I try very hard to always say thank you at the small times as well as the big. If someone holds the door for me, does something nice, or has a kind word, I make sure to tell them thank you.
