In the spirit of transparency, I thought it would only be fair to share some of my financial “dirty secrets”.
So here goes nothing…
- I am a tight wad. Shocker. Unfortunately, I may like saving money a little too much. Whomp whomp. My poor husband. I have a bad habit of nickel-and-diming everything. I will nitpick everything from the money we spend on paper towels to buying the store brand of dish detergent because it is 50 cents cheaper. Sometimes, I have to remind myself that I need to let go and it is perfectly okay for us to go get ice cream or go out with friends.
- There are a few things that I do waste money on. Ugh. I hate it but I will waste money on really dumb things some times. Biggest item I waste money on? Food. This is really a matter of poor planning more than anything. Also, notebooks. I am obsessed with notebooks. I see a cute one and just can’t seem to stop myself.
- I’m bad about talking myself into something – particularly clothes or toiletries – if it is on clearance or I can coupon it down. Even if it is something I don’t really need or didn’t want before I realized how cheaply I could purchase it.
